With an unwavering focus on preserving the natural hinges of the spine, and a unique approach in realigning the body before taking it into movement, we have found that the body will respond faster and safely to the uniformly correctional work of Joseph Pilates. There are over 500 exercises in the Classical Pilates Repertoire, and the progression of these is chosen carefully, to be tailored to each person’s body.
Not all Pilates is taught in the same way, try a free consultation, and 50% of the first ‘Idealised alignment’ session with a ‘Safe Spine’ Teacher and feel the difference for the potential to change your own body, and learn how to relieve pain patterns in the body. This work is perfect for anybody, at any age, there is NO excuse!!
“My posture, core strength and flexibility have improved immeasurably since coming to Pilates classes with Susannah and I couldn’t wish for a better teacher.”
Susannah is a PMA® Certified Pilates Teacher. Founded in 2001, the Pilates Method Alliance is the professional association and certifying agency for Pilates teachers. For the past decade, Pilates teachers from around the world have worked together to create a unified community, to share knowledge and information, and most importantly, to establish the practice of teaching Pilates as a profession. To that end, in 2005 the PMA launched the only third-party professional certification exam in the Pilates industry. The Pilates Method Alliance (PMA) is the international, not-for-profit, professional association and certifying agency dedicated to the teachings of Joseph H. and Clara Pilates. Our mission is to foster community, integrity, and respect for diversity; establish certification and continuing education standards; and promote the Pilates method of exercise.
